Due to continued growth, new contracts and an extensive pipeline of work, one of Ireland’s top Civil & Marine Engineering Contractors are hiring a Senior Buyer/Procurement Manager. This is a full-time position based in Cork.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in a similar role within the construction industry is required, preferably in the Civils sector.
• Possess strong business/commercial acumen allied with the ability to see bigger picture.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proven experience at delivering strong business results including through negotiated agreements.
• Ability to assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers, identifying opportunities.
• Ability to meet deadlines, multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

• Driving lowest costs and greatest value for the organisation including negotiation of supplier agreements, sourcing innovation and supplier relationship management.
• Point of contact and resolution for all issues relating to preferred suppliers.
• Anticipating, analysing and monitoring market and business needs.
• Design and deliver buying strategy reports, including recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
• Respond to queries from site, estimating, finance and commercial departments.
• Ensure all data is accurately maintained to enable the business to rely on the information for decision making.
