Description
  • You will assume overall responsibility for establishing and developing a central strategic and operational purchasing function across all product groups. This includes defining and implementing purchasing guidelines, governance structures, and efficient processes.
  • You are the central point of contact for purchasing matters and work closely with departments such as Finance, IT, HR, Legal, and Facilities, as well as with management. You analyze needs, gather requirements, and develop cost-effective procurement and contract solutions.
  • You are responsible for the entire procurement process – from needs analysis through tenders, selection, negotiation to contract conclusion – and independently implement procurement and award initiatives.
  • You manage supplier and contractual relationships, negotiate services, terms and durations, and identify and implement measurable savings and economic improvements.
  • You ensure transparency regarding expenditures and potential savings and provide targeted management reporting. Furthermore, you work within the international Grant-Thornton network and assume a high degree of operational responsibility in Germany.

Strengths that distinguish you professionally.

  • You have several years of relevant professional experience in strategic or operational purchasing – alternatively, your experience stems from a specialized purchasing or procurement consultancy with approximately 3–5 years of professional experience.
  • You have proven experience in rebuilding purchasing structures and in independently carrying out sourcing projects (end-to-end).
  • You possess a very good understanding of business principles as well as strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • You have experience in stakeholder management, even without formal authority – ideally in a professional services or knowledge-intensive environment.
  • You work independently, in a structured manner, and implement topics consistently.
  • You can quickly familiarize yourself with new product categories and professional contexts.
  • You bring a hands-on mentality while always maintaining a strategic focus on sustainable value contributions.
