Description

About the job

Step into procurement. Grow into Supply Chain leadership.

Proudly Australian and family owned, our client is a highly successful contract manufacturer creating, producing and packaging a broad range of food and beverage products for retail brands, cafés and food service companies.

An unbelievable success story, the business has grown approximately four-fold over the past 10 years and is now commissioning an additional manufacturing facility. It is now a genuine medium sized corporate. With that growth comes an opportunity for an experienced Procurement Manager to strengthen the function today and help shape its future supply chain capability.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the CFO, you’ll lead the purchasing of ingredients, packaging and consumables, supported by three direct reports including a Senior Purchasing Officer.

With a strong MRP process and system, working closely with Demand Planning, Production and R&D, you’ll operate in a dynamic manufacturing environment with several hundred suppliers across Australia, Europe, the Americas and Asia.

The company is also active in commodity trading, buying at fixed prices for contracted periods. You’ll have support in this area while taking responsibility for all other supplier negotiations and agreements.

Importantly, this isn’t simply about managing procurement as it stands today.

We want you to challenge the status quo and drive improvement.

You’ll help develop a true S&OP process, strengthen supplier relationships, establish supplier performance measures and build capability within a relatively new procurement team.

And there’s genuine room to grow.

Over time, the organisation sees this role developing into full Supply Chain Management, reporting to Operations.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced procurement professional with a background in food and/or packaging, with strong commercial acumen and the ability to drive continuous improvement.

Cultural fit is critical.

This is a growing family business, so you’re not totally constrained by corporate process, but you can’t be a “cowboy” either. You’ll follow the processes that matter, challenge the norms where improvement is needed and always consider the long-term interests of the organisation.

Down to earth, resilient, proactive and driven, you’ll bring an open and collaborative style, strong stakeholder relationships and the commercial confidence to negotiate effective supplier arrangements.

A competitive salary and benefits package will be negotiated commensurate with this critical appointment.

Ready to make your mark and go on a growth journey?
