Description
Company Description Since first going into action in 1909, the BESIX Group has over the years grown into a multidisciplinary company with a leading position in its markets: construction, property development and concessions. BESIX Contracting specializes in construction, infrastructure and marine works, often in contracts with a high level of complexity. In Benelux and France, the Group’s regional affiliates BESIX Infra, Belemco, Cobelba, Jacques Delens, Vanhout, Wust and Lux TP ensure a strong presence and a local approach. With Franki Foundations, West Construct, Socogetra, Sanotec and Van den Berg, the Group offers specialist niche solutions for the building market like deep foundations, geo-engineering, road construction, water treatment and cable and pipeline construction. Backed by our experience in our home markets, we have built up strong positions outside Europe. A typical example is the Middle East, where over a 50 year period we have built up an impressive portfolio. This diversification in activities and geography pays off by reducing our risk exposure. Job Description To lead and manage the MEP Procurement function across tenders and awarded projects. The role is responsible for managing a team of six, assuring consistent procurement governance across the Middle East region, obtaining pricing for tender estimates (mechanical, electrical, ELV, BMS, HVAC, wet services, fire, etc.), reviewing tender documentation during bid stage, developing vendor strategies, and executing the full procurement cycle once projects are awarded (from RFQs to selection, technical-commercial alignment, negotiation, and final award). The role ensures alignment with corporate governance, commercial risk appetite, and company strategic sourcing objectives. Routine Jobs: Lead all MEP RFQ issuance, price collection, scope alignment, and commercial clarifications at tender stage. Review tender documents (specifications, drawings, BoQs) and highlight technical and commercial risks to Tender and Engineering teams. Develop procurement strategies for major MEP packages per category (HVAC, electrical, ELV, plumbing, etc.). Maintain and update the approved vendor database and preferred bidder lists. Drive technical and commercial alignment between Engineering, Procurement, and Operations. Ensure correct contractual risk provisions (back-to-back with Main Contract and Golden Rules). Lead negotiation and award process of major MEP subcontracts and supplier packages post-award. Drive cost benchmarking, price analysis, and best technical-economic solutions. Work closely with Commercial and Engineering teams to close gaps, address exceptions, and ensure governance compliance. Manage supplier performance, quality, delivery reliability, and scope compliance across awarded projects. Provide coaching, guidance, and performance management for six procurement staff. Weekly / Monthly Jobs: Weekly tender procurement status update to Bid Manager. Weekly awarded project procurement status update to Procurement Manager – Middle East. Monthly team performance and workload balancing review. Weekly site visits to discuss procurement status with operations teams. Skills and Competencies: Flexibility – Adapt between office-based and site-based depending on business needs. Hard Work & Ownership – Deliver results; focus on output, not hours. Accountability – Ownership of deadlines and proactive risk identification. Trust & Respect – Transparent communication and collaboration. Bias for Action – Progress over perfection; maintain momentum. Continuous Improvement – Feedback-driven mindset and constant learning. Qualifications Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred). MCIPS / CIPS certification preferred but not mandatory.\ Minimum 12+ years in MEP procurement in GCC contracting. Minimum 5 years in a leadership / team lead role. Additional Information Six Construct is guided by our core values of respect, excellence, co-creation, passion, and unity. Our values are at the heart of everything we do, creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, secure, and motivated to reach their full potential.
