ST ALBANS (HYBRID WORKING)
We have a very rare opportunity for an experienced and ambitious procurement executive seeking a step up to join our Bought In Finished Goods Team in a first entry level Procurement Manager.
This is an ideal opportunity for either a junior procurement manager or someone working in a procurement executive role for several years looking for further growth and development. As a Procurement Manager within the Team, you will have primary responsibility for managing the re- work, copacking and shipper programme but with additional responsibilities for managing other third party manufacturers of finished products. Looking after these categories, you will act as the primary procurement contact for efficiently and successfully managing innovation projects, resolving supply and commercial issues, negotiating pricing and working within project Teams to deliver the Premier Foods NPD agenda in your portfolio areas. Alongside the ability to develop collaborative relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will understand strategic sourcing methodologies, coupled with strong problem solving skills.
For this role, we’re really keen to bring in someone who is an effective and highly adaptable communicator with strong networking and relationship building skills with a practical and flexible approach and the ability to prioritise effectively. The role will have direct contact with both external and a wide range of internal functions, often at a senior level and the successful applicant must be comfortable representing the function in a professional manner, supporting or challenging colleagues or suppliers as required.
The scope of the role can involve all aspects of the food manufacturing supply chain. Involvement in NPD from concept, process work, identification of suppliers, tendering, award, product development, ingredients and packaging development, supply chain set up and compliance, contracting, launch planning and then finally through to the ongoing supplier management. The role would really suit somebody who, in addition to core Procurement skills, has some knowledge of either the food manufacturing supply chain, NPD processes or has a passion for the food industry.
