Our growth-oriented Mechanical Commodity Department within the Supply Change Management organization has an opportunity for an experienced supply chain professional who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment. In this role you will support the Mechanical Department by fostering relationships with internal functions and suppliers in a manner consistent with integrated supply chain models, recognizing the role and value of each participant throughout the acquisition life cycle from requirements generation through product delivery, product support, and payment for products and services. You will engage in supplier performance, relationship management, and strategic sourcing activities as well as facilitate complex business agreements in support of various defense contracts. What You Will Do: Place subcontracts/purchase orders of moderate complexity in accordance with all regulatory (FAR/DFAR) and corporate compliance requirements Review drawings, specifications and purchase history to determine sourcing strategy for production hardware and build to print mechanical parts Prepare, issue, and analyze RFQs/RFPs Perform cost/price analysis techniques in support of proposals and purchase orders Develop negotiation strategies and lead formal negotiations (Price, Delivery, Terms & Conditions) Nurture professional business relationships with first tier subcontractors Work closely with the Program and other functional groups (Operations, Quality, Engineering, etc) to achieve objectives including financial goals Develop plans to promote cost reduction initiatives and performance improvements (technical and quality) in support of flawless supplier execution for programs Coordinate meetings between suppliers and internal customers Support occasional program travel needs to visit suppliers as needed Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience. The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
