POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Manager to lead all purchasing activities and vendor relationships within our aerospace and defense manufacturing operations. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of parts and services, and maintaining strong supplier performance. This role is critical to supporting production continuity, quality standards, and compliance with industry regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing/procurement, ideally in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of ERP systems and MRP planning tools. Experience with Plex by Rockwell’s ERP system preferred.
Familiarity with aerospace quality systems such as ISO9001, AS9100, ITAR, and DFARS compliance.
Excellent communication and vendor management skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, small-team environment.

Manage end-to-end procurement process for raw materials, components, tooling, MRO items, and subcontract services.
Develop, evaluate, and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met.
Monitor supplier performance and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to understand material requirements and priorities.
Identify and qualify alternate suppliers to reduce single-source risk and improve supply chain resilience.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and lead times with vendors.
Issue and manage purchase orders; track order status and resolve delays.
Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation in accordance with all relevant standards.
Support compliance with ITAR, DFARS, and other regulatory requirements applicable to aerospace and defense sourcing.
Analyze inventory levels to minimize excess while ensuring material availability.
Implement and manage ABC inventory classifications to prioritize procurement efforts and ensure focus on high-value, high-impact materials.
Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, cost savings, and supplier reliability.
