Procurement Manager

Description

Job Purpose:

The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing of goods and services to support Starlinks' operations. The role requires strong negotiation skills, supplier management, and adherence to procurement policies and compliance standards.


Main Job Responsibilities:


1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Execution

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with Starlinks' business objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
  • Negotiate contracts, agreements, and payment terms with suppliers to optimize procurement value.
  • Manage purchase requisitions and ensure timely procurement of required goods and services.

2. Supplier Relationship & Contract Management

  • Establish and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations and take corrective action when needed.
  • Ensure contract compliance, renewals, and risk mitigation in supplier agreements.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and develop improvement plans for underperforming vendors.

3. Cost Control & Budget Management

  • Develop cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product and service quality.
  • Work closely with finance and operations to ensure procurement aligns with budgetary goals.
  • Implement competitive bidding processes to optimize cost efficiency.

4. Compliance & Risk Mitigation

  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Assess procurement risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and updated procurement documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

5. Process Optimization & Technology Utilization.

  • Continuously improving procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Leverage procurement software and ERP systems for streamlined purchasing operations.
  • Analyze market trends and industry benchmarks to drive procurement excellence.
  • Perform other job-related projects and/or assignments that he/she might be asked to do by his/her direct supervisor/manager for special assistance that are often not mentioned in this job description as they arise under specific circumstances.
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.

Certification:

  • CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent procurement certifications preferred.

Specific Job Requirements:

  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, FMCG, retail, or e-commerce.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and supplier risk management.
  • Understanding of global procurement regulations, trade compliance, and ethical procurement practices.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
