JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Associate Director - Supply Chain Procurement, and closely partnering with Global Category Managers Road, Parcels, White Gloves and Warehousing, the Procurement Manager is responsible for strategic and tactical procurement activities within the EMEA Warehousing & Distribution Category with annual spend of USD 140M+. The role serves as a Global Procurement Business Partner for the EMEA Supply Chain function, providing procurement leadership and sourcing execution to all Businesses and sites, and actively leads relationships with defined suppliers on tactical and strategic levels.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Business; Master, MBA degree, or Supply Chain Professional certification can be a plus
  • Desirably 5-7 years of work experience in Procurement or Sourcing functions, preferably in Logistics, Life Science, Automotive, Consumer Goods or High-Tech industries
  • Alternatively graduate from Business or Engineering School with honors or GPA 3.5 and above, with specialization in Procurement or Data Analytics
  • Strong analytical capabilities, and ability to rapidly process complex non-standardized data to derive conclusions and identify opportunities
  • Advanced level or certification in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint; MS Power BI and Power Automate can be a plus
  • Experience in working within Global cross-functional teams
  • Experience and technical knowledge in Logistics & Distribution services could be a plus
  • Broad business knowledge and acumen
  • Basic project management skills for Procurement Projects
  • Ability to successfully lead and implement change and innovation by working and influencing leadership team level within a highly matrixed organization
  • Skilled at developing partnerships, building and maintaining strong working relationships
  • Adept at leading and working in diverse and ambiguous environments
  • Fluent in English and Dutch: written, verbal and visual communication skills
  • Fluent in French highly preferred
  • Travel 20-30% (locally, region and globally)

Responsibilities:

DEGREE OF ACCOUNTABILITY

The Procurement Manager has direct responsibility to engage and actively manage relationship with Supply Chain, business, and support function stakeholders, ensuring understanding and alignment of Supply Chain and business priorities and needs, and their translation into Procurement and Sourcing Roadmap, Supplier Relationship Management and Sourcing Implementation activities. The associate is responsible for the execution of the sourcing strategy associated with Road Freight and Warehousing spend categories in Europe, Middle East and Africa Region, ensures alignment of procurement goals with EMEA Supply Chain, Global Transportation, and EMEA DC’s and sites, leads discussions for execution, and provides internal and external leadership and coordination to enable prioritization, resourcing, approval, and implementation of projects.
The associate in this role works across both Procurement, Supply Chain, support functions and Suppliers, and leverages strong technical knowledge, business acumen and data analytic capability to integrate sourcing, category and business strategies as well as the Procure-to-Pay process. The Procurement Manager supports and leads governance processes within EMEA Warehousing & Distribution spend for EMEA Region and sites.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze logistics cost, benchmarking and operational data to identify opportunities generating Cost Reduction, Inflation Avoidance, Cash Preservation, Supplier Performance Improvement and Risk Mitigation
  • Partner with Global Category Managers Road, Parcels, White Gloves and Warehousing to validate pipeline of opportunities and prioritize efforts
  • Collaborate with Regional and sites Supply Chain and Global Transportation, as well as support functions (i.e. Quality, HSE, Finance) to align sourcing goals and timelines with key Cost-to-Win programs
  • Set up and manage bi-annual and weekly sourcing events in Keelvar, assess and negotiate offers, evaluate scenarios and present actionable recommendations to Procurement and Supply Chain Leadership
  • Lead Supplier Relationship Management program with appointed suppliers, driving identification of opportunities and Supplier CI, suppliers development and delivery of sustained value for BD
  • Provide inputs for Budget Guidance to Global Category Managers, Regional Supply Chain and Finance
  • Partner with Global Category Managers to influence Indirect category strategies and ensure they resolve needs in EMEA Region
  • Advocate for the implementation of Procurement Category Strategies within EMEA Region
  • Partner with Procurement Center of Excellence to timely draft and execute contracts and service level agreements
  • Improves Procurement and Sourcing processes that strategically address chronic problems
  • Support to resolution of operational and supply continuity issues
