Description

The Procurement Manager will oversee and direct the activities of the purchasingdepartment along with providing leadership and management to their assigned directreports. Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure the acquisition andallocation of materials are available when needed.

MINIMUM POSITION EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Machining background preferred
  • Familiar with outside processes/subcontract
  • Military/government contracting experience and knowledge preferred
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP Systems

Responsibilities

GENERAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement purchasing systems, including but not limited to, processes andprocedures that align with the company’s objectives.
  • Managing supplier relationships to ensure compliance with contracts and resolution of

issues.

  • Conducting and analyzing market research to identify potential vendors and suppliers.
  • Develop Supplier Scorecards/KPI’s.
  • Supplier contract management.
  • Responsible for both strategic and tactical procurement activities.
  • Develop cost savings metrics.
  • Familiar with inventory traceability from receipt to shipment.
  • Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs andrequirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers with focus on supplier relationship management.
  • Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
