What we are looking for:
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for the management of procuring materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for the diesel generator manufacturing process, while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. They play a pivotal role in maintaining an efficient production process and managing vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and Supplier Management: Identify potential suppliers, negotiate terms and agreements, and maintain relationships with existing suppliers to ensure a steady supply of materials and equipment.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyse supplier pricing and terms to optimise cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality standards.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations, while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that purchased materials meet quality standards and work closely with production team to address any issues.
  • Supply Chain Optimisation: Collaborate with other departments, such as production and logistics providers, to streamline the supply chain and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Purchase Order Management: Create, review, and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in all procurement activities.

Qualifications:

  • Industry qualification or similar in supply chain management, business, or a related field, would be beneficial.
  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools. Eg - Accentis or similar.
  • Knowledge of relevant manufacturing industry regulations and best practices.
