About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have a rewarding opportunity to join us as a Procurement Officer within our Maritime Acquisition Line of Business. You will be working with our Procurement Function where you will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to the support of the Royal Australian Navy. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for the procurement of goods to support the production of the Hunter Class Frigates. You will be working with a great team and have access to our 9-day fortnight. This role will be based out of our Osborne Shipyard in SA.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor production material demand as ship design matures and place orders with suppliers accordingly;
  • Work with the relevant contract manager to ensure that all purchase order and RFQs are in accordance with framework contract terms and conditions;
  • Lead the request for quotes (RFQ) process with raw material and goods suppliers;
  • Proactively manage product lead times in the procurement system;
  • Collaborate with suppliers on forecast delivery dates, goods receipt, acceptance and payment;
  • Collaborate with logistics on transportation solutions;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure material is ordered to demand, technical and quality requirements;
  • Manage complex purchase orders, including structuring in a manner which sequentially feeds production, provides visibility of lead times and delivery dates and efficient payment of suppliers;
  • Contribute to long term procurement strategies for key material categories and the management of key supplier relationships;
  • Expedite orders to accommodate changing production requirements
