Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with the organization's goals while ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities to meet the company's specific needs.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure the best terms and minimize procurement costs without compromising quality.
• Manage supplier relationships through regular communication and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with agreements.
• Liaise with the Projects Department on their planned procurement requirement.
• After getting the technical requirement for any purchased material, review/assess technical specifications, bill of quantity, and drawings to determine suitable vendors/suppliers within the required timeframe.
• Float enquiries; ensure that the technical specifications are met fully as per the requirements of the Project Manager/Engineer in charge.
• Review and negotiate supplier quotations to determine the best price and delivery date as per approved vendor list within the required timeframe.
• Maintain a register of approved suppliers for each type of product and/or service and manage the maintenance of this register in terms of addition/renewal.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, with a strong foundation in procurement principles.
• Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a construction industry.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) are highly desirable.
• Experience in international procurement is a plus, with a preference for candidates familiar with global sourcing practices.
