VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a large and well-known Public Sector Organisation with the recruitment of a Procurement Officer to join their team based in Antrim.
This is an urgent requirement offering an immediate start date.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the tendering and quotation processes including; evaluation, negotiation, recommendation of tenders to the appropriate committee and debriefing of unsuccessful tenders.
  • Provision of procurement advice to officers, service managers and Directors on procurement policy and procedures.
  • Maintain procurement information on the organisation’s systems such as Procurement Policy, tender opportunities, contracts and Contract Management Policy.
  • Liaise with external professional Procurement bodies regarding the procurement of goods and services to identify potential collaborative purchasing opportunities.
  • Provide support to business areas to manage, monitor, evaluate and review contracts to ensure quality, value for money and compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Maintain the contract management framework to assist contract managers in assessing contract risk and monitor contracts.
  • Assist the Procurement Manager in the development, implementation and review of Strategic Procurement Policy and Procedures for the organisation.
  • Provide a high level of internal and external customer service including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following issues through to completion.
  • Promote equality and diversity across all service areas through clear leadership, effective policy implementation and demonstrating appropriate behaviours in line with Council values.
