JOB DESCRIPTION:

A vital new role with Marshalls Land Systems (https://marshalladg.com/) has arisen to provide procurement support to the relocation of their on-site assets from Cambridge to their new facility in Huntingdon. The role will involve working with the relocation workstream leads to provide sourcing expertise and secure the best possible deals and contracts for key capex and opex purchases relating to the new facility. The role will primarily involve project managing the purchase from supplier sourcing and tendering, through negotiation of cost and contract terms to delivery / install with handover to workstream leads.
70% of the role will be based on site at Marshalls production facility in Cambridge (postcode is CB5 8RX) the rest will be home/remote working

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant experience in a capital procurement or project management role
  • Must have previous experience dealing with stakeholders at a Management level
  • Prior experience with MRP/ERP systems and Excel
  • Proven experience of managing project spend and supply for capital purchases
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proven decision-making experience
  • A self-starter / proactive approach to work
Responsibilities
  • Sourcing capital equipment and negotiating costs and terms
  • Supporting on sale of obsolete and scrap materials / equipment
  • Working with key stakeholders on soft & hard facilities
  • Working with Global Category Team to ensure sourcing strategy is aligned to preferred suppliers
  • Working directly with key stakeholders to determine their needs
  • Tendering and negotiation where necessary to obtain best cost and terms
  • Reporting of progress to workstream leads and functional manager to ensure alignment to project timelines
  • Assess and report on the consequences for existing contracts effected by the move to Huntingdon
  • Deliver supply solutions that achieve or better the budget
  • Identify, report and manage cost and supply risks associated to purchased goods/services
  • Ensure all purchasing and business approvals required, are managed in accordance with the latest functional and business level DoA
  • Support the workstream leads through the Procure-2-Pay process
  • Manage suppliers within the workstreams to ensure timelines and budgets are achieved
  • Identify any supply chain risk and take appropriate mitigating action
