REQUIREMENTS:
- Exceptional negotiating skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience is required, with a preference for experience in manufacturing and/or food production.

- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in purchasing practices.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, purchasing, scheduling, and planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and decision making.
- Strong communication skills required, with ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, especially with Excel.
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
This role focuses on researching, evaluating, purchasing and procuring inventory to ensure all production and sales demands can be met. The role develops strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, focusing on procuring products at optimal price points, while ensuring quality and timely delivery can be met.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sourcing:
- Receives and processes purchase requisitions for the purchase of materials and services as requested by the end user.
- Submits request for quotes, and evaluates based on best price, delivery, quality and payment terms.
- Expedites orders as needed and helps to settle any claims.
- Assists logistics on third party shipment requirements.
- Investigates, tracks and reports on freight costing.
- Assist in establishing, abiding by, and enforcing purchasing procedures.
- Sources and provides samples for stakeholders as requested.
Vendor Management:
- Identifies supplier performance metrics and tracks appropriately.
- Manages new supplier set-ups.
- Adheres to, tracks and report on quality management activities as required
- Establishes and maintains supplier relationships
Strategic Initiatives:
- Assists, investigates, analyzes and supports Global Strategic Sourcing including evaluations, contract setup and management.
- Negotiates competitive pricing, delivery and payment terms for critical items.
- Identifies, reports on and analyzes strategic purchasing initiatives and contract setup.
