JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in International Trade, Supply Chain, Metallurgy, Environmental Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in international procurement or bulk commodity trading, preferably in metal recycling or lithium battery sectors.
  • Proficient in Incoterms 2020 and international payment methods (LC / DP / TT / OA).
  • Knowledge of HS Codes (8548.10, 7404.00, 7602.00) and customs documentation.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in a second foreign language (Spanish/French) is an asset.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills, high compliance awareness, and willingness to travel internationally.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Registered with EPA (US) or ECCC/CEPA (Canada) for waste export.
  • Hands-on experience in international trade of spent lithium batteries or metal scrap.
  • Familiarity with Basel Convention cross-border movement procedures.
  • Build an international supply network for black mass, copper foil scrap, aluminum foil scrap, and mixed metal waste.
  • Explore key markets in Asia, North America, Europe, and Africa to secure bulk recyclable material suppliers.
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Verify supplier qualifications (environmental compliance, legal recycling licenses, transport permits).
  • Coordinate logistics, customs clearance, and environmental approvals for both export and import sides (complying with EPA / CEPA / Basel requirements).
  • Pricing & Contract Negotiation
  • Develop procurement strategies and pricing based on commodity market trends (Cu, Al, Co, Ni, Li).
  • Draft and negotiate international purchase contracts, ensuring safe payment terms (LC / DP / TT, etc.).
  • International Regulatory Compliance
  • Stay updated on import restrictions for hazardous waste and recyclable materials in different countries.
  • Ensure packaging, labeling, and shipping comply with IMDG / IATA / TDG standards.
  • Market Intelligence & Risk Management
  • Monitor industry policy changes and price fluctuations.
  • Formulate risk mitigation strategies for supply and inventory management.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality service and timely delivery of goods.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors to achieve cost savings.
  • Utilize ERP systems and MRP tools for effective inventory management and purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and plan procurement activities accordingly.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor contracts for compliance and reporting purposes.
