WHAT YOU’LL DELIVER:

  • Support bid teams on new business opportunities, including seeking inputs from suppliers and subcontractors for tenders.
  • Manage sourcing process with project teams, including ensuring procurement plans for sourcing activities are in place, reviewed and implemented.
  • Manage the review, negotiation and execution process for purchase contracts in collaboration with contract managers, and facilitate inputs from key stakeholders, including engineering, project delivery, legal, finance, risk and insurance.
  • Facilitate handover of purchase contracts to the project team.
  • Support project teams on subcontractor management, including variations, claims and dispute resolution.
  • Work with internal groups and project teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies.
  • Contribute towards actions to further improve the delivery and impact of the services provided by the Contracts and Procurement team.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Procurement Specialist contributes to the profit performance of Beon by sourcing suppliers and subcontractors and establishing purchase contracts in collaboration with project teams.
The role will be responsible for ensuring that purchase contracts are established efficiently in line with project timelines and are consistent with Beon’s commercial and technical objectives. In carrying out this purpose, the position works and collaborates closely with internal groups, such as project delivery, engineering, legal, finance, insurance, contracts and business development, to drive contract negotiations in all phases of a project.

TO SUCCEED IN THE ROLE, YOU’LL HAVE:

  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience of the full range of sourcing activities in an engineering and/or construction business, with relevant achievements. Experience in the Australian renewable energy industry desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading or supporting negotiations on complex commercial and technical contracts with suppliers and subcontractors is desirable.
  • Understanding of procurement and supply chain management (including RFx processes, category management, procurement and supply chain risks).
  • Working understanding of structured Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP.
  • Proven relationship/stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, business writing and problem-solving skills.
