Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist supports the development and management of company-wide purchasing programs, including supplier evaluation, cost analysis, and procurement for major capital projects. This role also assists with contract administration and operational purchasing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to develop and implement purchasing programs to optimize performance and efficiencies.
  • Supplier Management: Assist in identifying, evaluating, and qualifying potential suppliers. Conduct cost comparisons and analyze supplier performance.
  • Contract Management: Manage contracts for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) and negotiate procurement of supplies and services.
  • Cost Reduction: Help plants reduce costs of parts, equipment, services, and consumable inventories by managing and supporting best practices.
  • Fleet and Scrap Management: Support the management of the forklift fleet and scrap material sales.
  • Purchasing Coverage: Provide coverage for plant purchasing(Vacation,Sickness) needs as required.
  • Reporting: Create and run reports to maintain and expedite open purchase orders.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all initiatives, procedures, processes, and policies.
  • Project Tracking: Track project milestones and payments for major capital projects.
  • Coordination: Help coordinate department meetings and support new account setups.
  • Industry Trends: Stay current on industry trends and relevant materials/services.
  • Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience in purchasing.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Power BI.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, strong work ethic, comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing environments and continuous improvement practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of resolving issues with offsite teams.
