POSITION SUMMARY:

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for leading strategic sourcing initiatives aligned with company objectives to provide sustainable, cost-effective, and reliable materials and services to Kuraray’s businesses. The Procurement Specialist role involves identifying and qualifying new suppliers that meet Kuraray’s requirements, while continuously developing market intelligence to inform top-tier strategies. The Procurement Specialist will also represent Kuraray in negotiations and work closely with diverse business teams to implement sourcing programs and strategies enabled by third-party goods and services. The Procurement Specialist also includes overseeing supplier performance, managing contracts, and driving process improvements that contribute to long-term cost savings and operational efficiency.
This position will be a Hybrid/Remote position (2 days per week in the office/ 3 days per week remote).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or Sourcing
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management
  • Proven track record of successful negotiations and supplier management.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with experience in multicultural and international environments.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with SAP Business Queries and data analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication, presentation, interpersonal, creative thinking, consulting, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving/decision-making skills.
  • Ability to multi-taskCandidates must have a valid driver’s license.
