Nutraceuticals Procurement Specialist – nutriproz company
We are seeking a Procurement Specialist with 3+ years of experience in the nutraceuticals/dietary supplements industry. The role focuses on sourcing, evaluating, and procuring high-quality nutraceutical ingredients from global suppliers. The successful candidate will be responsible for negotiating supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. The position also involves working closely with the inventory and QA teams to manage ingredient receipt, storage, stability studies, and supplier qualification.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Food Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of procurement experience in nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, food ingredients, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of global nutraceutical markets, ingredient sourcing, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.
  • Familiarity with quality and regulatory standards (GMP, ISO, FDA, EFSA).
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple suppliers and projects simultaneously.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience with ERP or procurement systems.
  • Understanding of import/export documentation and logistics for global trade.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and ethical sourcing practices in nutraceuticals.
  • Prior experience with inventory systems, warehouse operations, or stability testing support.

Responsibilities
  • Source and procure nutraceutical ingredients globally, ensuring quality, regulatory compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply terms with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier qualification, audits, and ongoing evaluations in alignment with regulatory and company standards (ISO 13485, GMP, FDA, EFSA where applicable).
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, Production, and Inventory teams to ensure timely availability and proper storage of ingredients.
  • Manage receiving, labeling, and storing of raw materials in coordination with the warehouse/inventory team.
  • Support documentation for ingredient shelf life and quality assurance.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging ingredient suppliers.
  • Manage and maintain supplier documentation, certifications (CoA, GMP, ISO, etc.), and compliance records.
  • Develop strategies for supply chain risk management and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Support new product development by identifying innovative ingredients and reliable suppliers.
