SUMMARY:
Carries out Procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFPs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis. Responds to client inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction.
Carries out activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and services to ensure terms are in the organization’s best interest.
Prepares purchase orders, approves payments, and negotiates prices to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly, under general guidance.
Compiles price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to provide input on reasonable prices.
Prepares requests for proposals (RFP) and bid packages to take on new accounts. Monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Contacts suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries.
Established and productive professional contributor.
Problems faced are difficult and may be complex.
Works autonomously with limited supervision.
Influences others within the work area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
Does the candidate need to have ERP or MRP experience to be qualified? If so, what system would the hiring team like to see on a resume?
- - preferred, but not necessarily a dealbreaker for me – we are using SAP – it would get them started quicker
Will the candidate be purchasing any specific type of commodity or material?
- - not specific, role will touch most likely all commodities. Majority of parts are machined/sheet metal parts, some vacuum formed parts, lots of hardware and electrical. All other commodities vary in the extend by the program
- - not in terms of pricing – but negotiations in terms of expedite options if that makes sense
What functions in Microsoft Excel will be utilized on a daily basis?
- - Pivot tables, search functions, XLookUps, sorting, filtering
