Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Specialist to assist and support the purchasing process within our organization. The ideal candidate will ensure cost-effective procurement of materials, supplies, and services while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Essential functions Support procurement initiatives that promote quality, cost efficiency, and operational effectiveness. Assist in analyzing spending trends and gathering data to support supplier negotiations and cost-saving efforts. Help track procurement activity to ensure alignment with departmental budgets. Research, identify, and help evaluate potential suppliers and vendors. Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to support consistent service and reliability. Assist in obtaining competitive pricing, quotes, and terms to ensure overall value for the organization. Monitor supplier performance and escalate concerns related to service, quality, or delivery. Additional responsibilities Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing. Maintain accurate system data related to orders, pricing, and supplier information. Track inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to help prevent shortages or excess stock. Partner closely with operations and production teams to support demand needs and timelines. Help identify potential supply risks and communicate concerns proactively. Collaborate with internal teams including finance, engineering, and operations to support business objectives. Competencies Proficient in Microsoft Office suite Possesses the ability to apply strategic thinking. Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to apply problem-solving skills in a result driven environment. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build strong supplier relationships. Strong negotiation and contract management skills Requirements Required education and experience Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or related field 3+ years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management Preferred education and experience Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPM, CSCP) is a plus. Experience in international sourcing and global supply chain management Manufacturing environment Physical demands Up to 10lbs of force exerted occasionally. Up to 5lbs frequently Significant sitting Travel required. Travel is minimal but may have to travel to other location. Work environment Periodic weekend or evening work as needed.
