REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in EPC projects.
  • Strong understanding of contractor management, procurement processes, and supply chain best practices.
  • Expertise in RFQ, PO issuance, vendor negotiations, and expediting.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, logistics, and customs regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Location: Onsite, South West Ontario (specific location TBC)

  • Temporarily hybrid with visits onsite and to engineering/contractor offices. International travel may also be required.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to take a hands-on role in managing procurement activities within the Engineering & Procurement (EP) scope. The ideal candidate will have experience working in EPC project execution, ensuring smooth coordination between contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. This role requires a strong ability to oversee procurement strategies, schedules, and deliverables while proactively managing risks and ensuring compliance with logistics and documentation requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contractor Management: Oversee and manage EP contractors on behalf of the client, ensuring alignment with procurement strategies, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with engineering, project controls, and construction teams to keep procurement activities on track with the overall execution plan.
  • Procurement Execution: Take full responsibility for purchasing and expediting tasks, including issuing RFQs, evaluating bids, cutting POs, and coordinating timely material deliveries.
  • Supplier & Vendor Relations: Maintain regular contact with vendors and contractors to resolve issues efficiently and escalate risks when necessary.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track procurement milestones and vendor performance, ensuring contractor deliverables align with project objectives.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure proper documentation control, adhering to logistics and customs requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead or support procurement-related meetings, representing the client during contractor coordination and performance reviews.
  • Risk Management: Apply a strong understanding of EPC project execution, contractor oversight, schedule integration, and proactive risk management.
