QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of industrial purchasing practices
  • Strong writing skills for creating reports, correspondence, contracts, requests, bids, and other documentation
  • Strong computer skills in a Windows environment
  • Experience with SAP
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.

Responsibilities
  • Enters requisitions approved through internal hierarchy of approval
  • Coordinating communications, approval drawing/document reviews and deliveries
  • Ensures quotes are up to date to reflect most accurate pricing
  • Enters requisitions and monitors data in departmental database to ensure purchase orders are assigned in a timely fashion
  • Follows-up with Purchasing & Contracting to ensure orders are processed and provides updates to requesters and vendors regarding status of purchase orders and communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations
  • Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues
  • Generating progress/status reports & KPIs
  • Collection of contractual documents/drawings at receipt of material or completed services
