Primary Duties and Responsibilities 1. Advise customers of the location of the different products. 2. Make sure the lights are lit in the display cases. 3. Check the temperature of the refrigerators. 4. Clean the shelves and make room for the arrival of new products before their arrival. 5. Clean and organize the warehouse. 6. Arrange and rotate fruits and vegetables in the store. 7. Assemble and disassemble displays of fruits and vegetables. 8. Check daily the quality of fruits and vegetables. 9. Reduce shrinkage using fruits and vegetables before they spoil. 10. Receive the posters of the bi-weekly specials and place them in the corresponding fruit or vegetable. 11. Receive the fruits or vegetables from the different suppliers with the supervision of the store manager. 12. Return the misplaced fruits and vegetables, to the correct place. 13. Properly handle all equipment, to extend the shelf life of the product. 14. Collect all the bags full of garbage, including those from the kitchen and deposit them in the trash container located outside of the store. 15. Clean the store in general, including the restrooms. 16. Sweep and mop the store. 17. Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. 18. Keep the work area clean, orderly and free from safety hazards. 19. Report faulty equipment and hazards to management. 20. PERFORM ANY OTHER TASK ASSIGNED BY THE STORE MANAGER. Minimum Requirements: 1. Basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). 2. Ability to read at an eighth grade level. 3. 6 months of experience in the produce area. 4. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
The associate is responsible for advising customers, maintaining display cases, checking refrigerator temperatures, and ensuring the quality and proper arrangement of fruits and vegetables. This includes cleaning the store, organizing the warehouse, handling product rotation to reduce spoilage, and assisting with receiving supplier deliveries.
