Description Walt Churchill’s Market is looking for a Part-Time Produce Clerk for our Perrysburg, OH location. Job Summary: The Produce Clerk, under the direction of the Produce Manager and Assistant Produce Manager, ensures the department is well-stocked and clean at all times and assists with various department tasks. When on the sales floor, the Produce Clerk provides excellent service to our customers by greeting them and eagerly answering their questions. Duties and responsibilities vary, depending on the employee’s Produce Clerk classification – 1, 2, or 3. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Ensure the department is well-stocked, fronted, and fresh at all times Accurately stock newly received and back stock produce for the sales floor Energetically greet and interact with customers Assist in maintaining a clean department, including sweeping, mopping, dishes, trash, etc. Become proficient in department closing procedures, including cleaning the back room and pulling produce from the sales floor Consult with the Produce Manager or Assistant Produce Manager daily to come up with a shift plan or task list Take special orders, on the phone and in person, for produce trays and other offerings Communicate and record shrink Stock the salad bar, properly rotating and dating product Properly wrap, package, weigh, and label various products Fill and maintain sample stations Maintain general product knowledge for the department Assist in unloading and putting away produce shipments Additional duties may be assigned Schedule: Morning and afternoon availability including weekends. Requirements Required Skills & Abilities: Ability to communicate clearly Basic knife skills, including cutting and chopping Maintain a sense of urgency and thoroughness in all aspects of the position Comfortable working with the public and greeting, speaking with, and assisting customers Attention to detail, ensuring duties are completed correctly and on time Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Education & Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age High school education Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing, walking, twisting, lifting, bending, and reaching Frequent instances of pushing, pulling, and squatting Must have the ability to move product by pushing/pulling carts and using manual/electric pallet jacks Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds frequently
