Description Volante Farms in Needham, MA is a place for all seasons. As a fourth-generation family run farm, farm stand, and garden center it has over one hundred years in the community- specializing in homegrown and locally grown produce, ornamental and vegetable plants and seasonal decorations. More recently, several new departments were added as part of a large renovation. These include a locally sourced grocery department, butcher shop, ice cream stand and a still growing food service component including a deli, bakery, coffee shop, and two kitchens preparing food for retail sales; soups, salads, and sandwiches; catering for businesses and family events; pastries and desserts. We are looking for a Produce Manager to join our growing team! We are looking to hire for this position ASAP. Apply today! Job Duties could include: -Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the produce department, including ordering, stocking, and maintaining inventory levels. - Ensure that all produce is fresh, properly displayed, and meets quality standards. - Train, manage, and develop staff members on proper produce handling techniques and customer service skills. - Work with the management team to create and implement strategies to increase sales and meet department goals. - Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and make informed decisions regarding pricing, and product selection Schedule This is a full time, retail based job. The schedule is roughly 40 hours per week, which will often include weekends, evening, and holidays. We are closed many major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day, Fourth of July). The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position, actual rate will be based on experience. Time and a half is paid for all hours over 40, Sundays, and selected holidays. Requirements Qualifications - 2 years of previous experience in retail management, preferably in a produce department or similar setting. - Strong supervisory skills with the ability to effectively manage a team. - Ability to train, develop, and motivate employees. -Knowledge and interest in local produce
