The successful candidate will be scheduled 40 hours per week, and must be available to work AM/PM, weekdays and weekends. Regular Store Hours Mon – Sat 8:00am – 7:00pm, Sun 9:00am – 7:00pm Produce Team Leader This is a very exciting opportunity. The Produce Team Leader is responsible for helping lead the team through living and promoting our five Core Values as well as maintaining the day-to-day operations within the department. As part of our produce team, you are passionate about what helped get us started as a company – local and organic produce! This is an area that we are deeply rooted in and only offer 100% organic produce in our stores. As part of this role, you like helping others choose products that work best for their menu and giving some background on what farm their produce came from. This role also ensures our displays are looking full and amazing with our colourful selection of fruits & vegetables. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: A passion for organic food and natural medicine and love of the retail and grocery industry Excellent communication skills Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to set the standards for customer service in the Produce department Strong problem solving, and decision-making skills An eye for merchandising and the ability to assist in managing inventory Motivated by fast-paced environment Ability and desire to lead by example and create a positive, supportive working environment Desire to motivate and train team members Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisor role Previous food service or restaurant experience considered an asset Strong organizational skills Able to delegate and direct the work of others while working as a team Knowledge of purchasing in the produce field WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: Working with the Produce Manager to ensure effective communication throughout the day on department priorities Set daily priorities and pace for the team Coaches team members and helps drives selling and promotion within the department throughout the day Support the Produce Manager by actively working to meet operational standards Purchasing on a regular basis for our produce area Checklists are your jam!
