The Communications team plays a key role in advancing the American Cancer Society’s mission to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. The Producer, Live Events is a strategic storyteller and event producer responsible for crafting and executing high-impact internal events that inspire, inform, and engage ACS team members and volunteer leaders. This role partners closely with senior leaders and colleagues across the organization to deliver compelling virtual and live experiences that elevate ACS’s internal communications and foster a strong, connected culture in a remote-forward environment. Success in this role is defined by the ability to deliver professional-grade event production, innovative storytelling, and measurable employee engagement.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Years of Experience: 7-10 years

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, marketing, journalism, creative production, or a related field. 7–10 years of experience in a similar role is required, including demonstrated success in internal communications and live event production.

Creative and Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and/or other video editing platforms. Experience with project management tools like Monday.com is preferred.

Storytelling and Content Development:

  • Passionate about crafting compelling stories that connect with a remote, mission-driven workforce. Strong writing, editing, and proofing skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into engaging content.

Project and Event Management:

  • Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Able to lead end-to-end event production, from concept through execution, with attention to detail and deadlines.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Comfortable working with volunteers, team members, and stakeholders across the organization. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and a consultative, solutions-oriented approach.

Judgment and Initiative:

  • Demonstrates sound editorial judgment, initiative, and follow-through. A self-starter who thrives in dynamic environments and adapts quickly to change.

Mission Alignment and Attitude:

  • Brings a positive attitude, a strong willingness to learn, and a deep commitment to the mission and goals of the American Cancer Society.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimal travel is currently required for this role.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary for on-site event support or content capture and to support enterprise-wide communications initiatives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work is typically performed in a home office environment.
  • Must be available to respond to urgent communication needs outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
    The starting rate is $71,600 to $95,000 annual. The final candidate’s relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
