Responsibilities
  • Organise & produce coverage of major news stories for the day, including breaking news
  • Line produce the Midday News hour
  • Collaborate with presenters and editorial leaders across RNZ, producing original content for Morning Report, Midday Report & other RNZ News programmes.
  • Develop story angles and content that evolves throughout the day
  • Cover the Deputy Executive Editor due to leave or sickness if required
  • Ensure RNZ’s Charter obligations are met and reflected in the RNZ strategy
  • Collaborate with senior news leaders and colleagues to grow Midday Report’s reach and ensure it is a Must-Listen for the NZ Public.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships which take an audience first approach
  • Contribute to a positive, high-performing newsroo
