Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Product Acceptance Specialist to join our Decorative/Component Paint Team based in North Charleston, South Carolina. This position would be supporting our site on an Alternate Work Week (AWW) with hours Friday through Sunday.
The selected candidates will be responsible for, but are not limited to, performing tasks in the areas including aircraft inspection, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss, production control, training, process improvement and Lean/BPS. First Pass Quality is a top priority when work is reviewed for completion.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

  • Must be willing to work any shift based on needs of the operation
  • 1+ years of experience using strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Required to wear & maintain fall protection gear/certification with weight limitations and safety equipment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

  • 1+ years of experience working with Velocity and production applications
  • Proficient in all forms of NCR (Non Conformance Record) and EPD (Emergent Process Document) generation (NC/NCR/RGEN/PU/SAT/SRR/PU or RGEN Revision etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Engages with FSCC and Chronic Issues Team (CIT) to drive area improvements
  • Provides objective evidence of results
  • Performs auditing, surveillance and monitoring
  • Identifies and documents discrepancies
  • Segregates and controls non-conforming items.
  • Perform preliminary review and disposition of non-conformance
  • Conducts product review with customer during product or process verification
  • Identifies repetitive or significant non-conformances and initiates requests for corrective action
  • Identifies and communicates risks to First Line Leader with efficiency
  • Participates in determining details of assignments to accomplish a wide range of objectives
  • Works with other support organizations, Team Lead and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk
  • Verifies documents and communicates shift turnover
  • Plans for work statement changes and daily/weekend/holiday overtime requirements
  • Supports teammates to improve their job performance including identifying training and provide OJT
  • Supports customer item defect management
  • Supports coordination with FSCC for non-conformance resolution.
  • Resolves problems during operation and testing of deliverable products
  • Documents inspection results
  • Verifies routine product conformance to design requirements
  • Identifies KPI and LMS Kaizan improvement actions, and follows up with actions and tasks associated at weekly Kamishibai and Gemba walks
  • Performs work when necessary to cover for absenteeism and to maintain customer needs build schedules
  • Segregates and controls non-conforming items

  • Obtains and maintains fall protection, flight line badge & LOTTO certifications at all times
  • Uses various types of inspection precision measuring tools – microwave, digital gages, isoscope, etc
  • Paint inspection and repair/rework of composites, aluminum and titanium metals as well as seal application
  • Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Frequent carrying, climbing, working at heights, walking, and standing
  • Occasional reaching at or above shoulder level
  • Frequent working at heights, bending, walking, crouching, standing for long periods, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and use of hand tools
  • Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/stoop and operate foot controls
  • Contact with sealants, metals, carbon fiber, adhesives, painted parts and solvents. Exposure to noise
  • Occasional work on the flight line
