Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to Senior Manager, Product and Process Development, the Product and Process Engineer will be focused on delivering Sustainable and Breakthrough improvements to manufacturing operations. Responsible for driving TPM, LEAN and OEE methodologies across a multi-plant network, with a critical focus on Process Reliability, Plant Capacity, Waste Elimination, Planned Maintenance and Building Capability of plant personnel. The Process and Product Engineer is part of the Continuous Improvement framework that develops and implements world class manufacturing standards within plants and across common technology platforms. The Engineer is part of a matrix organization that has daily accountability to Plant Managers as well.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Leadership to deliver step-change Improvement in the Reliability of Manufacturing Systems while optimizing throughput, production rates, yield, cost and changeover time;
  • Leadership to Identify and Eliminate Waste across Product, Package and Process dimensions. Deliver improved manufacturing layout and product flows within lines, and across plants;
  • Leadership to drive Root Cause Problem Solving and a Relentless Focus on the development of Manufacturing Standards to ensure Sustainable Plant Performance – including the Training and Qualification of Equipment Operators;
  • Build Technical Mastery and Critical Partnerships with Equipment Designers and Machine Suppliers for the purpose of delivering more cost-efficient production processes and improved Manufacturing Standards for the Equipment Operator;
  • Lead the Start-up of new equipment and manufacturing processes, including Acceptance testing, Commissioning, Qualification, and Performance Based Training;
  • Collaborative Teamwork across Operations, QA, H&S, Finance and HR to deliver superior results.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-3 years of experience working in Manufacturing. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering;
  • Experience implementing and leading LEAN, TPM and Process Reliability/OEE methodologies;
  • Experience driving Root Cause Problem Solving, Waste Elimination, Equipment Breakdown Elimination and the Qualification and Training other others;
  • Excellent team player with outstanding Written and Verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to achieve results in a fast paced manufacturing environment, with minimal supervision;
  • Detail oriented, Analytical Thinker, very strong Problem Solving skills;
  • This role involves 30% travel within Canada, with a significant emphasis on Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan
