Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.
This position is 3 days on 3 days off.
6am - 6:30pm - 2 x 40 minute breaks. £15.92 per hour.

REQUIREMENTS

Responsible for team activities and process within the product staging and supply area. Consistently meet core metric target for safety, quality, people, delivery and cost. Engage and challenge support functions to facilitate the achievement of area targets. Support the Staging and Supply Supervisor to achieve the broader strategic targets of the retail area function.

Key Role Accountabilities and Requirements :-

  • Build an area safety culture of compliance to standards and proactive behaviours that identify and address potential hazards to eliminate risk of accident
  • Record and report any accidents or near misses, supporting investigations and corrective actions
  • Help CPM Team Leaders to reduce inefficiency on their lines
  • Use CI methodology to identify and eliminate waste. Present area performance metrics and actions to drive improvements
  • Cost - Use RCA to identify and address excess costs
  • Support internal and external audits as required, managing, and implementing any preventative actions
  • Engage support functions in the ambitions of the department

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE. :-

  • Significant knowledge and experience of Warehouse control and function, processing and operations are essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and work under own initiative to deliver to deadlines
  • Ambition to grow personally and within the business.
  • Understanding of retail packing and manufacturing
  • Ability to manage and lead a team
  • Be a role model for all staff.
