Job Description Product Application Specialist – Hydrocarbon Process Industry HPI/CPI You can be based in: Iberia or France Veolia Water Tech is seeking a technically accomplished professional to provide specialist support across our Hydrocarbon Process Industry, Chemical, and Petrochemical operations in the Iberia and France region. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced process and gas treatment technologies whilst collaborating with regional and global experts to drive business retention and profitable expansion across premium industrial accounts. As Product Application Specialist, you will provide critical technical support to the commercial sales team, working closely with customers in refineries, chemical plants, and acid gas treatment facilities. Your expertise will be essential in understanding customer concerns, developing corrective action plans, and conducting technical audits at existing and prospect accounts. You will serve as a trusted technical adviser, translating complex process challenges into practical solutions whilst ensuring clear communication across internal and external stakeholders. This position requires a strong technical foundation combined with excellent communication skills to influence commercial strategy and support new business acquisitions. You will make technical presentations to all levels of customer organisations, articulate the differentiable aspects of Veolia Water Tech's chemical treatment programmes, and provide troubleshooting support at key accounts. Working within a collaborative European and Global team environment, you will contribute to defining market needs and evaluating new product introductions to meet evolving industry requirements. Day-to-Day Duties: • Provide technical support to commercial sales teams across Hydrocarbon Process Industry, Chemical, and Petrochemical sectors in Iberia and France • Conduct technical audits at existing accounts and survey prospect accounts to identify opportunities and optimise treatment programmes • Deliver technical presentations to customer organisations at all levels, including participation in seminars at specific customer sites • Provide technical troubleshooting and equipment inspection support at key accounts within the region • Develop corrective action plans for customer concerns and manage direct customer relationships through clear communication • Work with process documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, PDSs, and heat and material balances to support customer applications • Articulate competitive advantages of Veolia Water Tech's chemical treatment and service programmes to customers • Support new business acquisitions and collaborate with European and Global teams to evaluate new product introductions Qualifications Ideal Skills and Experience: • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or relevant technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience • Demonstrated background in Hydrocarbon Process Industry and Chemical or Petrochemical Industry applications • Fluency in English, French, and Spanish, both written and verbal • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, Microsoft tools, technical report writing, and presentation development • Ability to work with process documentation and perform chemical analysis using standard methods • Willingness to travel approximately 20-40% of the time, including international travel, and work in heavy industrial environments Additional Information As an inclusive company, Veolia is committed to diversity and gives equal consideration to all applications, without discrimination.
