This Position reports to: Trade & Transportation Manager Your role and responsibilities Do you want to combine technical expertise with global impact? As a Product Classification Engineer at ABB, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our products, software, and raw materials meet international customs and export control standards. Every day, you’ll contribute to compliance and integrity, while helping ABB deliver innovative solutions worldwide. You’ll collaborate with Trade Compliance Officers, Product Management, R&D, and other functions, becoming a trusted partner in trade compliance matters. You’ll also drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen our processes and secure ABB’s position as a global leader. In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact. You will be accountable for: Providing customs and export control classification of products, software, and technologies as part of the new product introduction cycle. Managing and updating master data for products, technologies, and software, including product descriptions, Harmonized Tariff Scheme (HTS) codes, and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN). Supporting customs declarants with product information for master data management and entries. Guiding and supporting relevant teams with product classification-related inquiries or issues. Reviewing and applying regulatory changes related to product classification. Qualifications for the role You have good knowledge of customs and export control regulations. You have good knowledge of electronic products. You have good skills in MS Office. You are passionate about self-accountability, continuous improvement and collaboration. You are at ease communicating in English. Previous experience in trade compliance-related roles is preferred. What’s in it for you?
