POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated Product Design Co-op/Intern to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for students or recent graduates in industrial design, product design, or engineering who are eager to gain hands-on experience in the full product development lifecycle. The successful candidate will support the engineering team in developing new shading solutions, refining existing products, and contributing to manufacturing and prototyping efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a program in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Understanding of design for manufacturing principles.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Hands-on prototyping or workshop experience is an asset.
  • Interest in outdoor living, architecture, or consumer products is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the design and development of new shade products, components, and accessories.
  • Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings using.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation of product concepts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales) to translate customer needs into design solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of existing products through design updates and optimization.
  • Research materials, components, and manufacturing processes to support design feasibility.
  • Document design changes, test results, and product specifications.
