For the Specialized Nutrition R&I (SN R&I) division we are looking for a Product Design & Development Manager to join the Growth Category in the Specialized Paediatrics team.
In this role you will Design and Develop consumer centric Products that truly reflect the mission of the Specialized Paediatrics - Growth category. You will especially be responsible for ensuring holistic products design and you ensure business continuity by maintaining and improving products to vulnerable consumers for both liquid and powder formats. Designing the products you keep in mind: consumer needs, scientific/health needs, nutrition and FSMP regulatory requirements, value/cost equation etc., while securing strong execution and excellence in delivery.

• Ensuring efficiency and efficacy in designing and developing products to enable the category growth through close cross-functional collaboration
• Being the SN R&I voice in cross-functional teams, especially being the technological lead in projects. Securing the quality and consistency of the qualification and validation of new formulations
• Ensuring formulations follow robust and right by design principles, risk mitigations are in place, and all documentation in line with SN R&I processes.
• Co-building the product brief together with your key stakeholders in marketing & science
• Innovation (holistic) product implemented in-line with project/product brief quality and time
• Ensuring lab and pilot plant activities generated and created in-line with key decision requirements
• Collaborate with stakeholders in Supply Points, R&I Global, CBUs, and Pilot Plants to conduct trials and align on final results.
• Anticipate the risks and challenges and proactively propose solutions.
• Work closely with Specification Management on raw material selection
• Able to look critically at the current product development process & challenge the status quo and capturing knowledge.
  About you
  You are an experienced product developer, with an innovative mindset, an eye for details and thrive in bringing a strong positive impact to your Category.
  You can easily connect with cross-functional departments displaying effective stakeholder engagement. You have excellent communication skills and can effectively build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

In addition, you have/are:

• A MSc./PhD degree in Chemical engineering, Bio-Chemical engineering, Food technology, bioprocessing, nutrition science or similar working/thinking level obtained via experience.
• Min. 3-years experience, preferably in Product Development or R&D environment, preferably in the field of Specialized Nutrition.
• Technological background in specialized nutrition know-how, proficient in using product design and development tools.
• Good understanding of Quality and Food Safety non-negotiables for this category.
• Good understanding of qualification and validation processes
• Understand of the fundamentals of Project management
• Proactive in work and communication and strong in prioritizing;
• Stakeholder management experience, strong networker (internal and external)
• Change agility, a business acumen mindset, result driven (based on technical expertise) and able to work autonomous;
• A strong Team Player with a collaborative mindset;
• Critical thinking and problem solving.
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written
