JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an energetic, outgoing, and dynamic Product Design Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves role, ideal for someone with a positive, can-do attitude and a creative approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of design and/or manufacturing experience and a passion for developing innovative products from concept to completion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field, OR equivalent expertise in mechanical system design.
  • At least 5 years of design and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and bills of materials.
  • Basic understanding of low- and medium-voltage electrical system design.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects under pressure and deliver results.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interface with factory staff, sales teams, vendors, and customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with working knowledge of Microsoft Access.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Inventor, or other 3D modeling software.
  • Strong technical writing skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • 2+ years of experience managing design projects from inception to completion.
  • Experience with AC motor control systems, including Variable Frequency Drives, transducers, and motor starters.
  • Visual Basic for Applications or PLC programming experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
  • Product design experience, with an emphasis on sheet metal components.
Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines, quality, and budget goals are met.
  • Drive new product development, incorporating structural, mechanical, and electrical design.
  • Develop innovative design concepts and refine existing product designs.
  • Maintain and create bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and production time estimates.
  • Source parts through new and existing supply chains.
  • Collaborate with factory staff, vendors, and customers to ensure project success.
  • Assist with costing of new products and manage special projects as assigned.
