Epassi are growing and we are looking for a Product Design Trainee to be based in our office in Helsinki.
In this position of Product Design Trainee, You will be working with our employment benefit product which is currently in use in Finland and Sweden. Our users are employers who offer the benefits, the employees who use the benefits, and the merchants who offer the services.
We have both app and web experiences, B2C and B2B, so you will be exposed to a variety of design problems and will have the opportunity work on every phase of the process. Based on your personal interest, this can involve anything from user research to collaboration with developers. You will be part of our in-house design team where more experienced designers are happy to guide and mentor you to get started in your design career.
This is a paid, temporary position for 4 months from April to August and we welcome applications for students currently studying for a Bachelors degree. This role will require being based in our office in Helsinki and will require being office based for at least 3 days per week.
You will get to be a part of a product design team. You have the full support of our expert designers in Finland and our international locations who will guide and assist you.
Duties & responsibilities
Doing small design or research projects with the support of or alongside our more senior design team members.
Typically projects will consist of research, interaction design and UI design phases, as well as testing with users and working with development teams. You will get to see all phases of product design!
To some extent we can tailor the work to your interests and skills.
Required qualifications
Some courses or training on user-centered design, interaction design, service design or similar
Experience from an end-to-end course project is appreciated but not mandatory
Basic understanding about most typical design methods, processes and tools
Basic understanding of web or native app (iOS or Android) development is a plus for better communication with developers
Fluency in English, additionally skills in Finnish, Swedish or Italian are appreciated.
