You’ll guide the design process from user research to final implementation, working closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment. You will also develop and maintain a scalable design system to ensure consistency across products. • Pay rate: $70/hour.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end product design process, from ideation to delivery.
• Conduct user research and apply insights to design decisions.
• Create high-fidelity prototypes and mockups that clearly communicate design ideas.
• Design intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling user interfaces.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation.
• Develop and maintain the Compass Design System used across multiple product modules.
• Conduct usability testing and mentor junior designers.
• Ensure designs align with product goals, standards, and technical architecture.
• Work closely with developers to maintain and scale the design system, including coded components.
• Deliver design specifications covering interaction design, copywriting, i18n, accessibility (a11y), error handling, and data variation scenarios.

Requirements:

• Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
• 5+ years’ experience designing web-based software applications, preferably in B2B or fintech environments.
• Proven experience collaborating in agile/lean teams with product managers, engineers, and designers.
• Expertise in design thinking and human-centered design methodologies.
• Strong focus on understanding the problem before designing solutions.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining design systems in Figma and with developers.
• Skilled in prototyping and interaction design, including HTML/CSS/JS knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in ambiguous situations.
• Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and best practices is an asset.
