Description

DESCRIPTION

At CFC, Product Design is a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and visual design of our digital products. Sitting within our Underwriting Technology team, you will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders across the business to design intuitive, engaging, and effective solutions that meet user needs and align with strategic outcomes.
This role blends user-centred design with strategic product thinking. You will be responsible for leading design activities across the product lifecycle, from discovery and definition through to development and delivery, ensuring that every touchpoint reflects a deep understanding of our users and a commitment to excellence.
You will contribute to the evolution of our design culture, championing best practices, accessibility, and continuous improvement. Your work will directly impact how our customers interact with our products and how our teams deliver value at scale.

ABOUT YOU

You’re a product geek at heart: energised by solving real user problems, obsessed with great experiences, and always exploring new tools, trends, and ideas. You bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a love for the craft to everything you do.

You will also:

  • Have a demonstrated ability to design thoughtful, user-centred solutions for complex workflows. A portfolio that showcases your design thinking, problem-solving, and impact on real products.
  • Have expert level skills in Figma for creating wireframes, prototypes, and design systems. Familiarity with tools like Miro, FigJam, or Notion for collaboration and documentation is a plus.
  • Be comfortable planning and conducting research activities, synthesising findings, and applying insights to improve product usability and effectiveness. Familiarity with tools like Hotjar, Dovetail, or Mixpanel is a plus.
  • Be able to clearly articulate design decisions, rationale, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences. Skilled in presenting work and facilitating feedback sessions.
  • Have experience collaborating within agile teams, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deliver value incrementally.
  • Be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, balancing short-term needs with long-term vision, and delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Be proactive, curious, and open to feedback. You thrive in a team environment and are always looking for ways to support others and improve the collective output
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and business stakeholders to understand user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. Translate these into intuitive, elegant, and scalable design solutions that enhance user experience and drive measurable outcomes. Also, you will:

  • Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research activities (such as interviews, surveys, and usability tests) to uncover user behaviours, pain points, and opportunities. Work closely with Product Managers and Product Operations to synthesise findings into actionable insights that shape product direction and validate design hypotheses.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity prototypes using tools like Figma. Ensure designs are accessible, responsive, and aligned with CFC’s design system and brand standards.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our design system, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and accessibility across products. Collaborate with engineers to ensure seamless implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Advocate for inclusive design principles and ensure all experiences are intuitive, equitable, and aligned with user expectations. Stay informed on design standards and embed them into every stage of the design process.
  • Share knowledge, mentor peers, and help evolve our design processes and rituals. Actively participate in design critiques, retrospectives, and cross-functional workshops to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

LOVE WHAT YOU DO:

We show up each day ready to take on the world. Our passion and intensity set us apart and makes the difference to our colleagues, customers, brokers and carriers.
