Description

HI THERE! THANKS FOR STOPPING BY

Actively looking for a new opportunity to work on a team focusing on projects with real business impact? Do you thrive in environments where you can help raise the bar for quality, drive collaboration, and mentor others to reach their full potential? If so, you might be in the right place!
Lightspeed is looking for an Intermediate Mobile Product Designer to join our X-Series Mobile Register team. Our retailers rely on the mobile register for their daily checkout and payment needs. In addition to offering the core functionality of a traditional POS, the mobile register provides added flexibility and convenience—ideal for dynamic retail environments where sales may happen outside the store. In this role, you’ll focus on enhancing the mobile experience on iPad using our newly developed mobile design system. You’ll also play a key role in supporting and mentoring other designers in mobile design best practices, while contributing to the evolution of our mobile design library.
The ideal candidate has experience designing iOS applications for iPad, with a strong understanding of native design principles using Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines (HIG), and experience conducting user testing. You excel at identifying opportunities to deliver customer value and thrive in cross-functional collaboration with engineers and product managers to create exceptional user experiences.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the design of the most advanced in-store selling experience on iPad — a native application that empowers retailers with elegant, high-performance workflows at the point of sale.
  • Translate complex, ambiguous problems into simple, delightful product features that deliver real business value.
  • Design clear flows, interfaces, and systems that scale — balancing usability, aesthetics, and performance.
  • Leverage and continuously improve our design system, maintaining consistency across platforms and contributing to its evolution.
  • Use insights from user research, analytics, and cross-team discovery to inform your design decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to ensure a user-centered approach from concept to launch.Be a visible design leader — driving clarity, raising quality, and helping shape the design culture within the team and across the organization.
  • Be a positive role model and culture champion within the design team as well as an advocate for design within the Lightspeed organization.
