As one of Canada’s Most Admired Cultures we are a performance driven culture that cares deeply about our employees well being. We set ambitious goals, rely on data, and thrive on healthy debate. But we also know sustainable performance comes from a caring and uplifting environment. Both sides of our culture fuel each other—and we protect them equally. Our values & principles include:

  • We make our clients successful - we do what’s right for our customers, even when it makes our roles more challenging.
  • We execute and deliver - we set ambitious goals for ourselves and are energized about meeting them.
  • We debate, then commit - we challenge our own perspectives and ideas in pursuit of the best solutions.
  • We innovate to inspire - we value innovation in products, user experiences, and business practices.
  • We collaborate to achieve more - we work as one team to achieve more than we would on our own.
  • We empower our people to reach their full potential - we hold ourselves to high standards but know when to celebrate progress & achievements

Job Description
We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our growing design team, with a focus on MachineBuilder—our 3D, browser-based CAD tool that lets manufacturers design and assemble industrial equipment.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with interactive 3D or technical assembly tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal, CAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, Onshape) and knows how to translate complex technical processes into easy-to-use interfaces. If not, strong experience designing complex 2D tools or professional applications (not just marketing sites) is also valuable.
You’ll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to define user journeys, run experiments, and craft design solutions that balance power, ease of use, and execution speed—key to Vention’s culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead design for core flows in our 3D MachineBuilder, shaping how users design and assemble automation equipment.
  • Simplify complex technical workflows into clear, intuitive interfaces.
  • Partner with product and engineering to define problems, run research, and validate solutions.
  • Deliver user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI in Figma.
  • Contribute to and evolve our design system to ensure speed, quality, and consistency across the platform.
  • Participate in user research, usability tests, and data-driven design decisions.
  • Present and explain your work clearly in design reviews, with rationale rooted in user needs and business impact.

Qualifications
-

4–7 years of product design experience, with at least part of it focused on software products beyond websites.

  • Portfolio that demonstrates strong UX problem-solving, interaction design, and UI craft.
  • Experience designing complex tools or applications (ideally 3D, CAD, engineering, or assembly environments).
  • Strong ability to structure, simplify, and communicate complex systems.
  • Proficiency with Figma and prototyping tools.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, execution-driven environment.
