Description

Position Summary: Utilize Unigraphics NX CAD and/or CATIA V5 software to develop initial concepts into CAD designs for OEM Programs. Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following: * Provide design and drafting support for development projects. * Work closely with Product Development Engineers to design concepts that meet customers needs and requirements. * Maintain departmental databases and personal time logs for tracking and reporting purposes. * Perform CAD functions as required. * Provide CAD math data transfers, e.g., FTP sites, customer portals, etc for the company’s internal and external customers. * Manage relevant CAD files in Shape’s controlled systems. * Help respond to CAD issues and benchmark industry trends to aid in continuous improvement. * Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and work instructions related to design work. * Help establish and maintain departmental processes and design/drafting standards. * Help address and/or escalate questions or concerns relating to designs. * Participate in departmental and corporate meetings as required. * Develop accurate engineering bill of materials to support assigned projects. * Establish and maintain relationships with our internal and external customers. * Develop appropriate level of customer PDM knowledge to pull/push data as required. * Identify and train a back-up(s) to manage key tasks when absent. * Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the leader. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree. * Minimum of three years prior experience in drafting/design. * General understanding of manufacturing minimum process requirements. * General understanding of vehicle and component packaging. * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. * Proficient in 3D CAD using Unigraphics NX and/or CATIA V5.

Responsibilities

Develop initial concepts into CAD designs for OEM programs using Unigraphics NX or CATIA V5. Collaborate with Product Development Engineers to ensure designs meet customer requirements and maintain departmental CAD standards.
