POSITION SUMMARY: The Product Development Assistant supports and collaborates with Design, Production, Technical Design, and Merchandising to develop the ready-to-wear assortment while ensuring the design vision is met. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Product Development team with daily operations. Coordinate with Design, Production, Technical Design, and Merchandising. Follow up extensively with factories on garment sample due dates (X-dates). Maintain sample/mock tracking charts. Receive, sort, steam, and log incoming samples. Request mock-ups from vendors for embroideries, denim treatments, and specialty techniques. Pull and consolidate color standards at end of each season Manage duplicate samples for Technical Design for fittings. Manage sample closet organization and clean-outs. QUALIFICATIONS: 1–2 years of Product Development experience. Experience with PLM systems is an asset but not required. Understanding of the product cycle from concept through production. Knowledge of textiles, garment construction, hand sewing and patterns. Strong organizational and administrative skills. High attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication. Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and Photoshop. Familiarity with contemporary fashion aesthetics. $65,000 - $70,000 base salary (This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this NY- based position. The base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience and qualifications for the role, experience, level, skillset and balancing internal equity relative to the other AO employees.)
