JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Production Development Assistant, you will be assisting with the jewelry development process from the initial concept to production and quality control. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the development of Jewelry Designs in a dynamic work environment. You will primarily provide administrative and organizational support to the Design Team involved with product development, creative design, and production feasibility. An ideal candidate for this position is an organized individual with an eye for detail and an interest in enriching their understanding of jewelry and development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Jewelry Design, Jewelry Arts, Industrial or Fashion Design, or Engineering.
• Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Highly Organized with excellent communication skills.
• Strong aesthetic sense and a keen eye for detail.
• Adaptable to MARIA TASH’s practices, including file organization, to ensure an efficient and strategic development process.
• A collaborative professional with a team-focused mindset and positive outlook.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-2 years of experience in jewelry design or a related role focusing on design, manufacturing, project management, and creative development.
• Ability to transform 2D conceptual sketches into Jewelry Designs.
• Familiarity with Gemstones and Precious Metal.
• Familiarity with Rhino 3D, Matrix Gold, Z-Brush or willingness to learn is a plus.
• Familiarity with rapid prototyping processes such as 3D printing.

• Design Development Assistance: Support in the organization of the development of sketches, CAD models and prototypes, and provide updates to ensure consistency with the brand’s design direction.
• Project Support: Assist in maintaining seamless communication and collaboration between the design, production, and extended teams to keep development on track.
• Project Tracking: Track the progress of design projects and sample orders to ensure deadlines are met while upholding quality standards and aligning with brand objectives.
• Design Assistance: Support various design projects related to product development and prototyping and assist with coordinating communication between internal teams within MT.
• Design Assets Maintenance: Collaborate with senior team members to evaluate and organize CAD files, create technical sheets, and archive assets according to the MT process.
• Sample Management: Maintain and organize design samples and conduct basic quality checks.
• Development Updates and Administrative Support: Track the status of ongoing development projects and new collections, providing regular updates to the relevant teams.
• Rapid Prototyping: Maintain daily operations of the Rapid Prototype lab and provide progress updates.
• Vendor and Partner Relations: Maintain consistent communication with local vendors, suppliers, and jewelers to support resourcing and the development process. Occasional travel within New York is required.
