SUMMARY

The Product Development Coordinator is a key member of the Specialty Play Group design team. This role bridges product design, manufacturing, and drafting to support new product development (NPD) and light customization work. The coordinator will help ensure that products are efficiently designed for manufacturability and successfully brought to market through collaboration across departments.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or two years’ equivalent work experience required (drafting, design coordination, product development, or manufacturing support).
  • Extensive computer experience with knowledge of 2D and 3D design and visualization.
  • Background in project management with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk products (Inventor, AutoCAD).
  • General knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Drafting and design background

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Must be able to read and interpret technical documents such as safety rules and assembly manuals. Must be able to write installation instructions and parts lists for technical manuals. Must be able to understand, follow and execute instructions accurately.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • To perform this job successfully one must be proficient in using AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCAD software for design work, site plans/layouts and detailed part drawings. Familiarity with MS Office Suite is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with drafting team to create shop drawings and installation sheets for NPD.
  • Communicate with manufacturing team to ensure new and custom parts can be efficiently produced.
  • Work directly with testing team to order and track prototypes for new product development.
  • Create light custom parts as needed (HDPE, laser-cut metal, and other component types).
  • Collaborate with shop floor and manufacturing engineers to resolve manufacturability issues on catalog and custom components.
  • Assist with maintaining technical documentation related to new and custom parts.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
