Author Design Rules, Engineering Specifications, and update these documents as required. Work with Product Development Structures and Closures teams to develop feasible joints for the different programs. Coordinate joint feasibility testing with manufacturing and suppliers with test labs. Collaborate as part of a cross-functional team including Research, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Suppliers in developing and implementing new mechanical joining processes in Ford. Minimum B.S. in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related physical science field of study. 2+ years of experience working with Mechanical Joining. 2+ years of experience using CAD tools including Catia and Teamcenter. 2+ years of writing Engineering Specifications, and Design Rules. Self-starter and the ability to work effectively with little oversight. Team player and understands collaboration and delivering assignments as part of a cross-functional team. Hands on engineer. Ability to analyze and interpret data. Be able to use the MS Office tools. M.S. in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related physical science field of study. 10+ years as a Joining Engineer or similar experience.
