Description

DESCRIPTION:

The Product Development Engineer will work under the supervision of the Product Engineering Manager to design and ensure the integrity—safety, functionality, and reliability—of new products. This role involves close collaboration with Product Designers, Project Managers, Marketers, and other cross-functional team members throughout the product development lifecycle, from initial concept to production, to create exceptional consumer products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in consumer products, plastics, or related mechanical areas.
  • Knowledge of plastic part design, mechanisms, and the injection molding process.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (PTC Creo preferred).
  • Strong communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, and written) to effectively convey ideas across international, cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical technical solutions.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Hands-on experience with shop tools and technical lab equipment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally to support product development.
  • Self-motivated with initiative to take on responsibilities proactively.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate preliminary product concepts with the Design team to ensure feasibility for function and manufacturing.
  • Innovate new concepts utilizing the latest consumer technology.
  • Create physical and digital models to validate product functionality and safety.
  • Define and document product performance requirements.
  • Review physical products and components, providing constructive feedback to the development team.
  • Lead projects aimed at optimizing engineering workflows, establishing development standards, and leveraging new technologies.
